Hand painted property numbers completed for a residential property in Kensington using traditional exterior lettering and specialist signwriting paints. The bespoke numbering was applied directly onto painted brickwork to create a clean and visually balanced architectural feature suited to the character of the property.

Project Brief
The project involved hand painted exterior numbering for an early Victorian style property in SW5 near Earls Court. Unlike many larger stucco-fronted Kensington buildings, the house featured a painted brick façade, a particularly suitable surface for traditional property numbering and residential signwriting.
The client selected a fine line numbering style positioned within a circular roundel design. Placement, sizing, and overall proportion were developed using visuals prepared by Traditional Signs of London to ensure the finished numbering remained balanced and appropriate for the entrance setting.

Traditional Exterior Numbering
The numbering and roundel were painted entirely by hand using traditional signwriting brushes and specialist exterior paints selected for durability, opacity, and crisp edge definition on painted brick surfaces.
Particular attention was given to spacing, alignment, line consistency, and proportional balance to achieve a refined architectural finish sympathetic to the character of the property and surrounding streetscape.

Finished Property Lettering
The completed hand painted numbering enhances both the presentation and visibility of the entrance while remaining understated and visually integrated within the painted brick façade.
