Hand painted building numbering completed for a property in St James’s, Central London using traditional exterior lettering and specialist signwriting paints. The bespoke numbering was carefully applied onto the rendered masonry entrance surround to provide a clean and architecturally balanced finish suited to the character of the building.

Project Brief
The project involved hand painted exterior numbering positioned within the rendered masonry detailing of the entrance façade. The client supplied a specific numbering style to match the branding already associated with the property address, requiring the finished lettering to remain visually consistent with existing brand materials.
Careful consideration was given to sizing, spacing, visibility, and overall balance to ensure the finished numbering integrated naturally within the surrounding architectural setting while remaining clear from street level.

Traditional Masonry Signwriting
The numbering was painted entirely by hand using traditional signwriting brushes and specialist exterior paints selected for durability, opacity, and crisp edge definition on rendered masonry surfaces.
Particular attention was given to line consistency, alignment, spacing, and edge sharpness to accurately reproduce the supplied numbering style while achieving a restrained architectural appearance appropriate for the property entrance.

Finished Exterior Numbering
The completed hand painted numbering enhances both the presentation and visibility of the entrance while remaining sympathetic to the surrounding architecture and materials.
