Traditional Signs Of London was commissioned to produce apartment entrance numbering for a contemporary residential development in Mile End, East London. The project comprised fourteen apartment entrances across two floors, creating a coordinated architectural numbering scheme that complements the building’s contemporary interior.

Project Brief

The project required fourteen apartment entrance numbers, arranged across two floors and produced using an approved Baskerville-style typeface. Each number was positioned above the entrance doors to create a consistent identification scheme throughout the development.

To complement the polished marble-effect wall panels surrounding each entrance, One Shot signwriting enamels were custom mixed to match the subtle grey tones within the finish. The objective was to create apartment numbering that felt integrated with the interior architecture rather than standing apart from it.

Precision Architectural Numbering

Approved artwork was prepared before installation, allowing every apartment number to be transferred accurately using specialist signwriting templates.

This ensured consistent positioning, spacing and proportions across all fourteen entrances while maintaining the crisp finish expected within a high-quality residential development.

Once completed, every numeral was individually sealed with a clear protective varnish to provide additional resistance to routine cleaning and everyday wear within the communal areas.
