Project Brief

The client requested elegant and highly legible house numbers that would remain visually sympathetic to the property while improving visibility from street level. Guidance was provided throughout the planning stage regarding layout, sizing, spacing, and positioning to ensure the finished signwriting sat comfortably within the architecture of the entrance.

Layout & Signwriting Process

Following approval of the final layout, full-size templates were prepared and accurately scaled to suit the proportions of the matching gate piers and surrounding entrance architecture. Considerable preparation was carried out prior to painting, including layout refinement, proportional balancing, spacing adjustments, and precise positioning to ensure the completed signwriting remained visually sympathetic to the property.

The design was then carefully transferred onto the masonry prior to painting.

Traditional Residential Signwriting

The lettering and numbers were hand painted using traditional signwriting brushes and specialist exterior paints developed for long-term durability.
