Painted property signs at a residence in West London. A sign writer is the ideal profession for this, as the sign writer has the skill level, knowledge of typeography & design. Pride in appearance seems to be en vogue more so than ever and a painted property name and numerals are the desired finishing touch.

This property in Chelsea required both the property address & wording to show no parking infront of the residence  at the request of the client. it was to match a neighbouring residence, where both garages were required to have matching wording in typeface & sizing.

The clients requested that the typeface be traditional and in keeping with the area, but also be matching for both roller shutter panels. A roman serif typeface was chosen. The brief was it had to stand out so the message was clear but yet not overly obvious and out of place.

To produce the signwriting in the ideal sizing, the roller shutter panel is measured, centre lines are marked & then the writing is drawn out accordingly. The sign writing is then produced using the skill & expertise a sign writer has in creating such neat writing.

The roller shutters were to look identical, despite not being butted against each other. This part of the project was completed, so the next part of the project with painted property signs was sign writing a shallow depth panel on a front porch roof.

The property already had some 3d numerals screwed to the wall of the property, but these may have been taken down after the sign writing was produced. They may have wished for both, but the 3d numbers did give a mid-late 20th century look, which is probably less en vogue & not so in keeping with the signwriting being produced.
